Design and Symbolism
            The flag is adorned with a horizontal triband of green (top and bottom) and red (double width) with large white border with yellow five-pointed star centered on the red band. The gold star stands for unity and hope. The red band symbolizes love. The white band represents freedom, justice and peace and lastly the green band represents the lush green forests and fertility of the land. Green and red were also the colors of the political parties during independence.
