About Flag
Design and Symbolism
The flag consists of a white square and two vertical red bands on both ends of square in the ratio of 1:2:1. The central theme of the flag  is red Maple leaf centered on a white square. Maple leaf became a symbol of Canadian athletes in the 20th century and also a symbol of Canadian soldiers in both World war 1 and World war 2. The leaf refers to the native population that has been using the maple sap for centuries, and which is still a traditional Canadian product. The flag is also known as Maple Leaf flag.
