Design and Symbolism
           The flag consists of a green field with the black-edged red isosceles triangle based on the hoist-side superimposed on the larger white-edged golden arrow also based on the hoist-side, pointed toward the fly-side. Red represents the zeal and dynamic nature of nation-building which lies before the young and independent Guyana. Black portrays the endurance. Gold for mineral wealth of the Guyana. White for rivers and water. Green symbolizes the forests and lush green vegetation of the land.
