Flag of Togo
The flag comprised of five equal horizontal bands of green (top and bottom) alternating with yellow. There is a white five-pointed star on a red square in the upper hoist-side corner. The red colored square represents the bloodshed by martyrs to gain independence which bears white star of hope. The green bands symbolizes the forests, vegetation and agricultural land of the country. The yellow band represents the natural wealth of the land. The design resembles the flag of Liberia which itself replicates the flag of the United States.
