Flag of Ghana

The flag consists of three equal horizontal bands of red, gold and green colors and a black five pointed star on a golden band. These colors are often known as the Pan-African colors. The red color symbolizes the blood of those who died for the country’s independence during British Colonialism, the golden color represents minerals resources in Ghana, green color represents natural vegetation, forests and agricultural lands and the black star was adopted from the flag of Marcus Garvey’s shipping line called the "Black Star Line", this black star is the symbol of African emancipation.
