Flag of South Sudan

This flag consist of a blue equilateral triangle bearing a golden star and three horizontal bands of black, red and green color. The red band is edged in white color. Blue color represents waters of the Nile River as an important source of life for the people of the country, the golden five pointed star stands for unity, hope and determination of all people of African states respectively, the black color represents the native people of the country, the red color symbolizes the blood shed during the struggle for freedom and lastly the green color signifies the country's agriculture, natural wealth and fertility of the land. This flag was previously used as the flag of Sudan People's Liberation Movement.
