Flag of South Africa

This flag consist of horizontal bicolor of blue and red with a black triangle of equal sides at the hoist side and a central green horizontal band that splits into a horizontal Y, centered over the partition lines and was edged in both white against the red and blue horizontal bands and gold against the black triangle in which arms of the Y ends at the corners of the hoist and holds the triangle at the hoist side. The only symbolism in the flag is the Y shape, which can be clarified as "the convergence of diverse elements within South African society, taking the road ahead in unity". The colours themselves have no essential meaning. The red, white and blue colors were taken from the colors of the Boer Republics. The yellow, black and green are taken from the African National Congress (ANC) flag. Black symbolises the people, green color represents the fertility of the land, and gold color represents the mineral wealth beneath the soil.
